Back in 2017, after purchasing my first domain name I set to work building and deploying my first website and became hooked. Over the past few years I've loved learning new technologies and after securing grant funding I took the plunge and started Testmyteeth, an AI powered dental app to help you better manage your dental health remotely.

Founder & Software Engineer

• Having experienced the difficulty of accessing affordable dental care, and after securing grant funding from University I founded Testmyteeth, a dental technology start-up that uses AI to help patients track plaque accumulation remotely. Over the past two years I have:

• Designed the UI, wireframes and graphics using Figma.

• Developed the website using React, and later transitioned to Next.js to improve SEO.

• Built the mobile app using React Native (Typescript) and Expo including components, charts and image capture screens.

• Developed the app backend using various AWS services including AppSync, DynamoDB, Lambda functions, Cognito, SQS, API Gateway and S3.

• Developed the AI plaque detection software using Python and OpenCV which was deployed in a docker container to AWS.

• Implemented in-app-purchases using RevenueCat

• Deployed the mobile app on both google play and apple app stores.

• Worked closely with experts in preventative dentistry, featured on the front page of a leading Dental Health Journal, secured a prestigious innovation award and placed 2nd in the NatWest business pitch competition.

Research and Development Engineer Intern

• Working within the Environmental Control team, I helped develop new components for the latest Dyson air purifiers. By managing the project using JIRA and effectively collaborating across research, product development and innovation teams, I was able to meet tight deadlines, update stakeholders on project progress and present my findings to senior managers during my three-month internship.

Research and Development Engineer Intern

• Working as a member of the Verification team I led the development of new test equipment to assess the performance and reliability of Dyson products. I supported C++, LabVIEW and MATLAB software development and used Siemens NX5 to design and prototype the new test rigs. In my spare time I redesigned the ‘Early Careers’ SharePoint site, helping new starters understand development opportunities and share experiences. I also implemented my idea for old working electronics to be donated to schools for DT projects instead of being recycled.

Applied Data Science II: Machine Learning & Statistical Analysis (hons)

Online assessed course using Python and scikit-learn to build machine learning models to make predictions on real-world data. The course involved treating, cleaning, and encoding data before selecting the most appropriate machine learning model. The model was then tuned to perform well on both a training set and on out-of-sample data.

Online assessed Python course consisting of four main projects. The course involved reading, cleaning, processing, and analysing real-world data (JSON, CSV, SQL). Throughout I had to apply best practices, write readable, maintainable code, apply statistical analysis and conduct hypothesis testing.
